I don't know in which language to continue this discussion, but I'll use English, then everyone will understand wat I'm saying :) . Tyneman, you said that compositions without NH4Cl won't work very well. In the video posted by pudidotdk, table salt (NaCl) is used, and that also works pretty well (nice video :P ). So are there two or more types of chlorides you can use for this composition, or am I wrong about the table salt?

I guess so...Altough some chlorides probably will be a less effective due to bonding forces, length's of the cation.

And another question: What would saturated hydrogen chloride solution do? It will practically do all of the reactions which are possible will occur. A redox where oxonium is attacking the zinc, Acid-base with the amonium nitrate and oxonium and the total combustion redox reaction. But in which proportions according tot the results with the sodium chloride? I wish I had some zinc powder at my lab.
