Hey Guys, I wonder if you could help me out here. I have searched in my country for 70 lb kraft paper but without luck. That stuff is somehow impossible to come by. I came across this site: http://www.rajapack.nl/webapp/wcs/stores/s...tegory_rn=13136 It's kinda expensive, but since I don't understand a word could you help me out on how much shipping one, two or three of those rolls would cost to ship to Denmark? Or even better, anyone know where to get similar paper cheaper?

If we are thinking of trhe same "thinner", it's the stuff used to thin cellulose lacquer (nitrocellulose lacquer with some resins in it) which contains acetone, toluene and ispropanol. It would work, but I would think that just pure acetone would be better? Not sure of how toluene dissolves NC.

Hi, it's generally a box where damp composition is rammed in using the square rammer in increments. The box is then turned upside down so you have a loaf of star composition, which you slice like bread. You then cut each slice of "bread" like you normally cut stars :D

I made a loaf box, inspired by the one on Passfire. It consist of a box, roughly 80x120x100mm, and is smaller at the bottom in order to get the star loaf out. Also a rammer with a handle from an awl and a block of wood filled with lead in each side to make it heavier (I covered the lead with some white coloured filler). I havn't tried it out yet, though. But I think it will work just fine, even though the scrap wood I used is crooked by being in the humid garage It was treated with some kitchen table oil so the wood won't get ruined. Here are some pics, with some recycled kraft on the walls of the box in order of easy removal of the star loaf.

If the outerpart of the charcoal is crumbly and soft and the inner part uncarbonized you might need smaller pieces of wood. How big are your sticks and your cooler roughly?

pyrotubes4europe.com They sell 1" thick walled tubes. Make 1" shells and fire from the 1" tubes. 4" is way to big a start.

My mom doesn't like explosions and BOOMS, so instead of using the word "explode" when a shell breaks, I simply use the word "open." I don't use the word "break" because that wouldn't make sence in Danish.

Has anyone ever tried BP with spruce? I used our christmas tree and cooked a little charcoal. It was the first time I cooked charcoal, the result was awful. The outside of the lumps was overcooked, the inside not cooked enough. Even though my BP made with horrible spruce performed better than my nice-cooked willow BP. Hmm.

I told her I wouldn't make black powder, but only wanted to make fuses and a few smoke bombs. For a long time she wouldn't let me, but I kept telling her why it wasn't dangerous and such ( ). She finally let me! Now my pyro could begin. I worked my way up slowly. Keep reading about the correct procedure of different kinds of deviced, this includes safety. Be sure to let them know how much safety you have. Twist the truth a little, it won't hurt. For example, at first my mom wouln't let me put black powder into tubes. Now I can make aerial shells and such. I can't make big aerial shells yet or salutes. But that is because she is worried about my neighbours. If I fired it at my holiday house, it's okay. And I've also just bought an order on 1-6" shell hemis and 2-6" mortars. A 20 kg chemical order soon to come. I finally got my mom's permission. I'm now 15 years old.
