Pyroe@gle
Hello there. I am searching for blue, yellow and peech flare/illuminant/lance/torch compositions based on potassium chlorate (KClO3). Link to comment
Guest Goner
Ah come on... maybe you should use the search function?Wouter Visser It is one of the most wel known pyrotechnic pages on the web, so first look at sites like this one. Edited June 5, 2009 by lennard Link to comment

miech
I suppose peech is meant to be peach, or some kind of red? A very good red can be made using the following composition: 66 Strontium Nitrate 25 Potassium Chlorate 09 Shellac All oxidizers should be finely powdered like icing sugar, the shellac something like passing 120# or finer. It doesn't come very close. Yellow can easily be made by taking potassium chlorate, a random fuel (a compatible one preferably) and a random sodium salt. Something like this should produce a bright yellow flame, but burns quite fast: 7 Potassium Chlorate 2 Red Gum 1 Sodium Bicarbonate Some experimentation is needed to find a ratio matching your needs. Blue is extremely hard to make without paris green and ammonium perchlorate. You might try a nitrocellulose or nitroguanidine based composition with some chlorine donor and copper salt (copper oxichloride perhaps?). Link to comment
Pyroe@gle
That`s what im talking about, thanks a lot! Today I tried Weingarts "Toy Blue light" comp. but it was more a white than a blue colour. The next try with KClO3 65 CuCl (Copper(I)chloride) 20 SrCO3 5 Red Gum 10 worked much better! Link to comment
pyrobass
Last week I made some bleu torches I used my own composition. KClO3...6 PVC......2 CuO......0,5 Dextrin..+0,5 (binder) The ratio's where tested by just trying. It burns pretty quick My faforite yellow composition is: KClO3....7 Dextrin...3 NaCl.......1 Link to comment
