Dit lijkt me nu toch niet al te verstandig yellow of je zult er een hele lange lont aan mogen maken, maar metaal scherven kunnen heel ver vliegen. Ik zou zeggen oefen een beetje met een pvc buisje ofzo om daar grotere papieren hulzen mee te rollen als je dan een cato hebt kan het op zijn minst geen kwaad. Pirate

En is het eigenlijk niet beter dat het hout eerst droog is zodat er geen sappen en dergelijke meer inzitten :? Pirate

Nee hoor in mij zit er alleen een rode vloeistof en geen wit kruit sorry In de pirat strijkers die ik de vorige keer had opengebroken om wat raketjes te maken zat gruis kruit. Ik veronderste meal ofzo, de donkerheid van kruit was niet overal hetzelfde. In het bovenste gedeelte aan de ontbrandingskant was het iets lichter dan aan de onderkant. Yellowcard zij me dat een gedeelte van het kruit ook een vertragende werking had op de ontbranding ik denk het donkere gedeelte. Want ik heb de hele inhoud van de strijkers gemengd en van dat raketten gemaakt maar geen enkele is ontbrand :cry: alhoewel ik ze nog had geprimed met zelfgemaakte meal die wel ontbrande. Pirate

Well that half minute is rufly estimated but I do think it was about that long. But youre probably right that my nozle clogged up and my comp also wasnt rammed as evenly as my rockets so that also can be an explanation. But the fountains i made did where about twice the size as the ones you have in the picture. Nice tutorial on how to make a decent base and ignition :wink: Pirate

Ok, I tested some more rockets this weekend and they all worked nicely They where the same in dimensions as the earlier rockets except I cut them in half this time so they where about 5-6 cm long and I also made the nozle 0.5mm smaller so it was 3 mm now. I also made the cores smaller but with two rockets it was too small so they didn't ignite :cry: Me and a friend made 9 rockets wich all flew this time (exept two) with no cato-s at all. Three rockets had aluminium powder mixed with the meal powder so they left a nice trail of sparks in the sky when they flew. They only looked like they had a little less thrust than the regular meal rockets but they still got high enough. I also made three rockets with a payload (one of them was one of the rockets wich didn't ignite) but because I still don't have suitable sticks my rockets where not as balanced as they should be. So, the rockets with the payloads flew more to the side then upwards but since we were on our testing area it was not a problem. The payloads consisted of legaly bought firecrackers (bermuda triangels). I know they aren't good for aerodynamics but they where good enough to experiment with. Ok, that's it for now. My charcoal stash is gone so I'll first have to find/make some new but that won't take all too long and otherwise I can experiment with candy rockets. I also recorded some rockets flying around so I'll try and post the vids this afternoon. Pirate

Toen ik op het internet wat info over metaalschuurmachines was aan het zoeken zag ik dat ze meestal water+boorzuur gebruikten, maar olie gaat ook. Alhoewel ik denk dat het wel makkelijker is om je poeder uit water te halen dan olie maar het moet wel kunnen. Pirate

Ik zoek meestal ook alles op via het net. Maar regelmatig ga ik toch nog is een tijdschrift halen maar dan is het wel een Mototijdschrift :wink: Pirate

Wel ik denk dat ze in de lange buis hun huls steken en dan met het kleine buisje wat op die ronde plaat zit hun mengsel erin rammen en de nozle's enzo maken het boren gebeurd later met een boormachine natuurlijk. :wink: Pirate

Ik heb ook nergens gezecht dat ik zeker was dat ik gedistileerd water heb gebruikt alleen maar dat ik het niet zeker wist. Maar er word dus daadwerkelijk waterstofgas geproduceerd met dit proefje, wel voor de mensen die dit dus thuis zijn aan het doen doe het dan aub op een goedverluchte plaats. Want waterstofgas is toch een vrij brandbaar goedje, in kleine hoeveelheden zal het wel geen kwaad kunnen maar als je het bv in een kast laat staan voor een dag of twee. Pirate

De kwaliteit van het meal is ongeveer hetzelfde als je de kogelmolen of cia methode gebruikt. Dus persen is wel degelijk noodzakelijk om echt BP te bekomen.

Ok, I'll test some rockets with a small core and take a look at wat the difference is. But I'm planing to use only paper tubes, I don't want to work with anything plastic or metal since as you said there is always a risk for a cato. My meal was not of a terribly good quality but hey it worked so it's good for starters but the first thing I need to improve is the quality of my charcoal. And no, I didn't granulate my meal, I also don't know what it means :oops: Somewhere on the net I did read an article of a guy who made pulverone with his meal and he said that it was better than standard meal. He made his meal a little wet I think with water/alcohol and then pressed it trough a coarse screen and then he had a bunch of granules wich he set aside to dry and that was the pulverone. Is that the same as your granulated meal or is it something else. Pirate

Thanks The launching site I have used so far is good, it's mostly sand so there aint all to much risk of fire and it's big enough so you can run several 100s meters in all directions (except to the river but if you realy want you can swim) and there is a nice litle hill in the middle where you can launch the rockets. And trying to understand why something went wrong is part of the fun then you can examine the remains and build some other test examples. I made some new tubes yesterday so I can experiment some more this weekend. But they are also about 12 cm long so I'll cut them in half this time to take a look what the difference is. The wall thickness is around 3 mm I think but I'll have to measure it to be sure, but I will have to practice to roll good tubes because they still aren't that sturdy but they are getting better. And about the core, my end plugs where somewhat on the large side about 1.5 cm so it was kind of difficult to tell how deep the core exactly was but I think they where about 1-2 cm. But you say you make almost non-existent cores...don't you need them to get enough thrust to get off the ground and how deep do you make them ? Pirate

I think Blaf first soaked the paper with glue and then rammed it, because iff you do it the other way its like you say and only the top side of the paper will get some glue in it. Pirate

Het lukt mij ook gewoon om de pdf te openen, hij ziet er trouwens goed gemaakt uit Warcore. Maar wat is nu eigenlijk het verschil tussen een knaller gemaakt op de manier van Warcore en van 2Tall, knalt de ene harder als de andere of zijn het twee manieren om uiteindelijk hetzelfde te krijgen(een luide knal) Pirate

Ik heb juist even is heel het topic nog is doorgelezen en nu zie ik dat bermudas flash zijn :shock: Want ik heb zelf ook wat knallers met zelfgemaakte flash gemaakt en die heb ik dit weekend getest. Ze waren ongeveer 7 cm lang met een Id van 1 cm en de eindstoppen waren van gips en de lont zat door 1 van de eindstoppen heen. Ik had eerst een paar bermudas afgestoken en dan een knaller van mezelf en de knal was ongeveer 4-5 keer zo luid als die van de bermudas :twisted: Ik was samen met een vriend naast de schelde aan het testen en de bermudas knalden gewoon maar de zelfgemaakte hoorde we echo'en over het water Pirate

Gewoon adobe reader downloaden en je kunt pdf's openen. Pirate

Veel geluk met op de nationale loterij te spelen :wink: Ik zal binnenkort ook is een andere pc moeten gaan halen maar zolang ik nog kan gamen zonder al teveel lag is het nog goed. Pirate

Er zijn nog geen pics of filmpjes :oops: maar die ga ik volgende keer wel maken. De batterijen van men camera waren leeg :cry: Ik ga proberen om tegen volgend weekend nog een paar fonteinen te maken waarvan ik er enkele met meal+houtskool zou willen maken en de andere met ijzerpoeder en aluminiumpoeder. Maar op de moment heb ik buiten deze nog niet echt geschikte chems voor fonteinen. Of zou je met wat extra zwavel toe te voegen ook leuke dingen kunnen doen? Pirate
