Hello guys

Ehmm...this year, I admit, I wasn't too active in this hobby. But anyhow, I made a few devices. - as a tradition, 12 bottle rockets with flash header were made. To be honest with you, half of them just burned at apogee and half exploded quite nicely. All rockets were made the same way (you saw them here before) but this time headers were shorter and end caps were glued with water based wood glue. It just might be that moisture found its way to flash powder inside and moisted it so it just slowly burned. Whatever it was, spectators were for some reason very happy...
On other side, I made dozen firecrackers that were complete success! And one metal powder fountain with flash bottom – this particular one burned nicely but as its tube was sprally wound, it couldn't withstand pressure and cracked before burning ended so that flash could not make noise, just a thump and bright flash.

This is just to let you know I'm still here, watching and checking your overall acitivity. By the way, whyt did you do these days?

hello Blaf, I had some failures too, it is sad that it happened during New Yare selebration. I had bunch of rockets with exploding shels and stars. Since I was afraid to keep it at home (for fire safety), so kept them in trunck of my car. Humidity spoiled rocket motors, they dind go so well as it was during the test. But my fountains (tube 1 feet long) compensated with wengeance. They were made acording an old book recepy aut of BP and cast iron mixture. Since I used nozles in fountains , they were verry gushing and sparky. I dind do any cracker since my father in-low had axident, comercial cracker bursted in his palm.Neverless he was bleeding- lucky oldman anyway. He narrow -escaped, all fingers left ok, just his arm was tumid for a week .But he can blame just him self, he was trying to make bursting in the air.He used to ignit crackers and waith for a second then trew in the air. But he was lucky with one kind, but since he had some other kind he dind know delay time it led to the axident.
But finaly he is ok., no residual scarfs or twingle.

Hi

I had a very nice new years eve, all my homeade stuff went fine, especially
my 10 rockets with my homemade silver stars.
I also made some helicopters with salute headers and fountains and they all went fine.

The king was a 2" star mine filled with homemade silver & tigertail stars.
At the end before we went back home, I fired a 10g KClO4/Al salute-rocket with Ti-shavings in it,
and my pretty good new years eve was finished.

I was very happy.

PS: Sorry for grabbing out the thread, I wasn´t able to post till this day.
