  1. I have my roadflare( cause I cant get any clay at the moment)!!! I used this composition: 50% KNO3 40% large magnesiumshavings 10% aluminiumpowder, It was rammed very hard in a tube, i used 20g of the composition, it was nice. here is the link:
  2. You can also make decent Thermite with this formula: 180g Caso4 100g aluminium( 325mesh) 10g Sulfur You can cast it if you want, igniter should be a Al/S mixture!!!
  3. I have made some roadflares now, with my homemade fountain mix and some aerial effects. I´ll record them tonight and I am open for every advices. And Tyneman, I have mixed some KNO3 with aluminium, and magnesiumshavings, pressed that into a tube and it was a good light-show. PS: I have made some Caso4/Mg/S flashpowder! And I haven´t made any MgAl, it failed!
  4. hi I have made some magnesiumshavings( say 0,3mm thick and 3mm long) with a drill machine and a bit for it. I have anothe formula:( by myself) 50% Magnesium(aluminium)shavings 40% KNO3 10% Sulfur Would that be a good composition, too??? PS: I will try to make some MgAl myself today by using a hairdryer, coalfire and a turkish coffeepot, but I dont think that I am succesful in making magnalium, since the coal fire won´t be hot enough for even melting the Al. The coffeepot is made from thin stainless steel. I´ll make a 100g batch Pyrostar
  5. hi all Do you know some glitter formulas for fountains??? Or some formulas like in this video here: Materials I can get are: KNO3,Al( shavings, but NOT that much), magnesiumshavings, sparklerpowder, charcoal( willow) kmno4, etc. Any good formulas there??? Thanks for advices, Pyrostar :D
  6. hi I can´t find a very cheap KNO3 source here in germany, i just know a pharmacie that carries it, but 250g for awesome 15€, but still better then nothing, as about the salutes, I got my 20mm mortar out of PVC today and I create some fountains and aerial effects( great flash output and some white sparks). The last time as I was creating some really flash-effects was on new-years eve, I took 60g KNO3, 20g Al-shavings and 20g magnesiumshavings, mix them together and taped 4 rocket-engines together, the mixture put I in a handball( the little ones), glue the "flash-shell" on the 4 rocket engines, stick a very thick bamboostick on them, go to a bridge, ask my parents wether they can follow me, they dont know what was going on, then the rocket took of, the result was a very bassy report( I feel it in my stomach) and a VERY bright flash of light aand a wonderful spark-ball( say 1m radius AT LEAST). I couldn´t see anything for half an hour, cause i was totally blinded. BUT IT WAS AWESOME!!!! PS: i will make some fountains tomorrow since today is father´s day Pyrostar

  10. hi dudes, I am PYrostar the new member of this cool forum. I am 15 and I am from germany, and pyro is my hobby since 7years- I really like aerial salutes and other noise-making fireworks, but I like the kinds of groundspinners and fountains, too. MY equipment isnt that large, I just make my metalpowders myself and I cant even get visco here. But with these rare materials i can create wonderfull display items. I hope I can learn much from this cool forum and it would be cool to talk to you all!!! bye then, Pyrostar
