  1. HI all! I have another question for you! Reading AFN book I read some different contrasting things about rockets. On AFN II it is said that the nozzle is 1/4''(~ 1/3 I.D) with 5.5'' spindle lenght for 1 pound rocket. On AFN III it is said that the nozzle is 45-50%(~1/2 I.D) of tube for a generic rocket, which spindle lenght is 78% of motor. On website posted by sjeef1 it is said that nozzle is 1/3 I.D. Using http://www.flashnet.dk/rts/ the nozzle is 50% I.D.. So can someone tell me to make ''perfect'' rocket what is the best tooling design ? Using larger nozzle I should use hotter fuel right? or to reach highest height is better smaller nozzle with colder fuel or bigger nozzle with hotter fuel? Is reliable using(http://www.flashnet.dk/rts/) software? thanks to all. My tooling have this design: I.D 2cm spindle lenght 15,4 cm spindle width 1cm
  2. thx! It's a good website! As soon as I have some spare time, I'll try to make another 1LB motor! :)
  3. thanks guy! I have another question.. Do you can see the images and the other pages of this site? There are many parametres to make 1LB nozzless BP rocket: http://www.angelfire...kets/index.html
  4. I belive the problem is the ignition because I made an electrical igniter using NC laquer with 75% BP. I tested it and it made a little BOOM, so i suppose it was too poweerfull. Is it possible? The diameter of the spindle is 1cm. I rammed the motor with increments of one teaspoon
  5. Hi guys! I had machined 1LB BP rocket tooling using ''pdfbq'' link. 2cm ID, spindle lenght 14cm. I've tested it using hotter 75 15 10 granulated BP without nozzle, ignited at the top of the core but the rocket CATO. Is the spindle too long? or is the BP too hot? For UT tooling is too expensive to buy for me.This is the reason I have investigated for dimension.
  6. I asked this question hoping someone have bought this tooling :)
  7. Yes I know, but I need to pay for log in in passfire :)
  8. HI! Do you know steve laduke's universal rocket tooling? I have searched the dimension on the internet without any results! Do someone know the dimensions of 1LB rocket tooling?thx to all!!
  9. thx! E.C. I will try and I will post the results!
  10. so you are talling to me that a composition based on nitrate and MgAl is not sufficent to light the stars?
  11. Thanks to all but I haven't perchlorate and silicon. the forumula that i've used is: Hardt Green Star #5 Barium nitrate 56 Red gum 7 Magnalium -200 mesh 17 PVC 15 Dextrin 5 with 25% alcohol / 75% water but is safe to ballmill BP with MgAl together?
  12. thx!! I just tested my green MgAl stars..They are very very beautifull! The green is intensive but the only problem is to light the stars.. I tried to prime with BP without results(is too cold).. what kind of prime must I use? I don't want to use chlorate or perchlorate. A simple prime formula if is possible..
  13. yes I have a respirator! So Can I grind it in a ball mill? I ask it because I've read that you can grind only KNO3, C,S. But I've also read that you can grind all chemicals separatly without problems.
  14. how can I grind barium nitrate without health problems caused by dust?
  15. I have at home PVC k65. I tried to solve it with acetone, kerosene and turpentine without result :(
